Driver Airlifted After Crashing Into School Bus In Region The driver of a minivan was airlifted following a crash with a full-size school bus in the region. The collision occurred in Sullivan County around 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 52 in Jeffersonville. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies found a full-size school bus that had been traveling westbound when it was struck by a minivan traveling east.  Chaboty said an investigation at the scene indicated the minivan crossed the double yellow line into the path of the bus causing the collision.  Sullivan County Sheriff's Offic…

Body Recovered After Person Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge A body was recovered after a person jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Friday, May 17. The body of the victim was recovered from the Hudson River near Stony Point, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks of the New York State Police. The identity of the person has not yet been released. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Roadway In Hudson Valley Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames.  The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge.  According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.
