FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Though the forecast is no longer calling for snow , Fairfield County will still see cold and wet weather heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 49 and northwest winds between 7 and 11 mph, the NWS predicts. Wednesday night will see increasing clouds with a low around 31 and a north wind around 3 to 5 mph.
Thursday will see lots of rain, mainly after 9 a.m. The high will be near 47, with wind chill values between 30 and 40 early on in the day. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent, with new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
The rain will continue Thursday night, with the possibility of a thunderstorm. The low will be around 44. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Southeast winds will be between 7 and 11 mph, becoming southwest around midnight.
Friday night will be mostly sunny, with a high near 53. Northwest winds will be between 9 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 37.
Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 60. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
Sunday will be partly sunny, with a high near 61. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 40.
