There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but it could wash out some outdoor activities in the area over the holiday depending on when it arrives, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.
"A fast-moving storm may allow clearing in the Midwest but cause holiday to be ruined in the Northeast," Anderson said.
After sunny and comfortable days Wednesday and Thursday, there is a chance of thunderstorms Friday as temperatures climb into the mid- and upper 80s and humidity increases.
Saturday will be partly sunny and again humid with a high in the mid-80s.
The outlook for Sunday calls for a mix of sun and clouds with a pop-up thunderstorm possible and a high in the low 80s.
Monday and Tuesday will both be partly cloudy days with highs in the low 80s and a chance of storms in the afternoon and evening both days.
