I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Born Feb. 17, 1935, in the Bronx, he was one of four sons born to Edward and Lillian Rogan. In 1963, he married Bridget Kennedy from Sligo. She was a parishioner and Rosarian of Our Lady Queen of Peace. She belonged to the Auxiliary of Holy Name Hospital. Brandt was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, former Maywood councilman Frederick W.
