Greenwich Police Rescue Kayaker Near Red Rock In Long Island Sound GREENWICH, Conn. -- A kayaker was rescued off the coast of Greenwich this weekend after his kayak capsized and sank in Long Island Sound, Greenwich police said in a Facebook post on Sunday. The marine unit received a call from a good samaritan on Channel 16 reporting that a man was stranded on Red Rock, police said. Sacred Heart Academy Grads To Share Decades Of Memories At 70th Reunion STAMFORD, Conn. — Even though the brick building on Strawberry Hill Avenue in Stamford no longer houses the Sacred Heart Academy, the spirit of the school — and the Class of 1946 — lives on even after seven decades. State Closes New Fairfield's Popular Squantz Pond Due to Water Quality NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn.— If you're looking to beat the August heat, Squantz Pond in New Fairfield is not an option for Friday. Bridgeport Woman Charged With Leaving Dog In Hot Car At Stew's NORWALK, Conn. -- Police officers rescued a dog from a hot car parked at a Norwalk supermarket Wednesday afternoon and charged the driver with animal cruelty, police said. Officers were called to the parking lot at Stew Leonard’s at 4:10 p.m. on a report of a dog in distress, police said. The dog was in a hot car with only a small opening in the window, police said. Norwalk Man Busted On Drug Charges After Accepting Ecstasy Delivery NORWALK, Conn. — A 26-year-old Norwalk man faces several drug charges after he accepted and signed for three packages containing more than 750 grams of MDMA ecstasy addressed to him on Wednesday, police said.
