SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- For members of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, breaking a sweat never felt so good.

The Southport brokerage's "Team Sotheby's" recently participated in the newly redesigned CT Challenge bike ride, which has been rebranded as Mission. The charity ride is designed to support a variety of Mission's programs, which provide important support to those fighting cancer.

"Mission's facilities and programs are such an important part of recovery," said Brian A. Clarke Jr., brokerage manager at William Pitt Southport. "The programs are powerful and educating; I believe everyone should visit Mission to truly understand how amazing they are."

From summer camps for children to confidence-building adventure trips for college students and young adults, Mission seeks to help cancer survivors of all ages live the best life they can. For example, the groundbreaking Mission Training Center in Southport serves as an all-in-one center for exercise, nutrition and community-building. The programs founded there are then shared throughout the country, supporting those battling cancer from coast to coast.

As a team, the William Pitt Southport office raised $4,750 for this year's charity ride. "Having a grandfather that was an oncologist and passed from cancer himself, as well as an aunt who passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 56, it was a no brainer," said Clarke. "Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way." Ranging from 10 to 100 miles, the CT Challenge course takes cyclists from the rolling hills of northern Fairfield County to the flat shores along the Long Island Sound.

"The ride was phenomenal and so uplifting," said Clarke. "We look forward to next year."
