Himes is seeking re-election to represent Bridgeport and the rest of the Fourth District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is running against Republican challenger Dan Debicella of Shelton. In a recent interview with the Daily Voice at his campaign offices in Norwalk, Himes discussed recent initiatives taken in Bridgeport.

“Land is scarce in Fairfield County. We’ve got a lot of dirty land, Remington Arms, all sorts of post-industrial sites that are full of toxins. The federal government can play a role in cleaning those up, and then offering those up to businesses and manufacturing concerns to add jobs to the city of Bridgeport,” Himes said.
