Sharon Toscano, 44, of Norwalk, turned herself in to New Canaan Police in connection with the June event, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro.

On June 3 New Canaan Police received a complaint of a stolen debit card from the purse of an employee of the New Canaan Historical Society during a catered event at the society, Ferraro said.

Shortly after, the victim was notified by her bank that her card was being used to for several purchases in Norwalk, police said.

An investigation by New Canaan police led them to video surveillance that showed Toscano at several retail establishments using the card. She was identified and a warrant was issued, Ferraro said.

Toscano was charged with larceny, illegal use of a credit card, forgery, grand theft, and using a revoked card. She is being held on $25,000 bond.
