On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the Shelton Police Department responded to four overnight burglaries on Howe Avenue. Officers discovered the Subway restaurant, City Stylez barber shop, Grow restaurant and M and T spa had been burglarized.

Rocks were thrown through the front window of each business to gain entry, police said.

On the same day, Seymour and Ansonia experienced similar burglaries during the early morning hours, police said. Stratford and Milford experienced similar burglaries in their towns in the recent past, with Stratford police reporting a spree of six similar crimes last Thursday.

A joint investigation between, Shelton, Seymour, Stratford and Milford detectives led to the arrest of Roman Nieves, 37, and Keron Nixon, 34, both of Bridgeport.

Shelton Police charged Nieves and Nixon with two counts of third-degree burglary, four counts of third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and four counts of criminal mischief.

Each man was held for arraignment in Derby Superior Court on Dec. 21.

Additional charges are expected in surrounding towns, police said.
