Paulo Lumfuakiadi, 26, of Wheeler Avenue, was driving a grey 2009 BMW 3281 south on North Washington around 1 a.m. when he crashed into a utility pole near the city’s Emergency Operations Center, White said. He suffered a broken left leg and broken ankle and was listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon at St. Vincent's Medical Center, she said.

A 30-year-old woman riding in the back seat was ejected from the car and admitted to the same hospital with a pelvic fracture and a fractured left femur, White said.

Another passenger, a 29-year-old woman, was treated and released.

The Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
