Bridgeport Police reported that the shots were fired at 440 Trumbull Ave. at about midnight.

One man was shot, police said. A crime scene van was requested, and the victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital for treatment, police said Tuesday morning.

The victim was reported in stable condition. NBC Connecticut said the man had been shot five times.

One weapon was recovered from the scene, police said.

Last month, a shooting at Trumbull Gardens left eight people wounded and one man dead. Three gunmen opened fire at a late night gathering in a parking lot on June 11, killing Savonnie McNeil, 37, of Shelton, and injuring eight others, including a woman inside her apartment. No arrests have been made in that incident.

Mayor Bill Finch said police would institute walking patrols of public housing complexes in the city, including Trumbull Gardens, during a press conference June 30.

The city is asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Bridgeport Police Department at 203-581-5100.
