BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A gun-toting man who walked into a Subway shop in Bridgeport looking for lunch this week was within his rights to do so, authorities say, according to the Connecticut Post.

The unidentified man refused to show police officers -- who were responding to a complaint – his “open carry” permit, the Connecticut Post said. The entire incident was caught on video and went viral, the Connecticut Post reported.

According to the Connecticut Post story, state law allows people with valid permits to carry guns in public. They do not have to show anyone that permit, unless police suspect criminal activity or there has been a breach of peace, the Connecticut Post said.
