Bullet Grazes Teenage Girl's Head While She Sleeps In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An 18-year-old Bridgeport woman suffered a graze wound to her head early Wednesday when bullets were fired into a Lakeside Drive home, City of Bridgeport spokeswoman Rowena White said.

At 2:07 a.m. Wednesday, dispatch received a call of shots fired into the home at 14 Lakeside Drive, White said. 

Officers found the 18-year-old woman inside the home with a bullet wound to her head, she said. 

The injury was not life-threatening, and the teen was transported to the hospital in stable condition by EMTs, White said. 

At 2:53 a.m., the teen posted on her Facebook page, “Wow i’m in the hospital alone.” 

At 3:34 a.m., she posted, “Thanks to god i’m still alive.”

At 4:56 a.m., she posted on Facebook, “Nothing i could do but cry ... don't wish this pain on nobody.” When one friend asked "What happened?" another said, “She got shot.”

The Bridgeport Police Department's Detective Bureau is working with Stratford Police "on this matter" and "in a related incident," White said.
