BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport police officer received minor injuries following a traffic accident Saturday, March 19, with a suspect who fled from officers, according to the Connecticut Post.
According to Bridgeport police, the accident occurred after officers tried to stop a suspect in a grey Nissan Maxima on Route 8, according to the Connecticut Post. The suspect allegedly fled from officers, getting off Route 8 at exit 2, then re-entered Route 8 and collided with the officer when he fled down Fairfield Avenue to Scofield Avenue, said the Connecticut Post.
Police said the suspect attempted to flee following the crash, but was apprehended, according to the Connecticut Post. The officer was taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center for treatment, added the Connecticut Post.
