Keith Knox, 32, had also more than once threatened to kill Jennifer Knox, her mother, Madeline Gonzalez, told the Post.
Keith Knox shot his wife to death with a handgun, then turned the weapon on himself inside their apartment at the Trumbull Gardens public housing complex, police said.
City of Bridgeport spokeswoman Rowena White said the murder-suicide occurred at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Gonzalez also said her daughter's husband was "obsessively jealous" and "would fly into a rage," the Post said.
The couple are survived by their three children, all under the age of 15, one of whom found her parents bodies and alerted police, Gonzalez told the Connecticut Post.
The funeral for Jennifer Knox will be held Wednesday, with calling hours at 11 a.m. and services at 1 p.m. at Luz De Paz Funeral Home, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
