BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Joe Vieira passed away on July 3, 2015, surrounded by his family.
He was reunited with his mother Judy VanSteenburg, from the Bronx, Bridgeport and Camuy, Puerto Rico who predeceased him. Joe was born in the Bronx, NY on August 24, 1961 and is survived by his siblings, whom he cherished to no end: Angie Vieira of Bridgeport, Nolinda Tosado of Bridgeport and Camuy, PR, John Brown of Louisville, KY and Manuel "Nolo" Tosado of Camuy, PR and Bridgeport. He is survived by his wife of 14 years Marycatherine Vieira of Clinton and their two children, Riley and Cooper, who will always cherish the short time they had with him. Joe also left behind his beloved children from a former relationship, Melissa Torres of Bridgeport, Michael Torres of Bridgeport, John Vieira of Bridgeport and Vanessa Vieira of Bridgeport.
His pride and joy were his many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. If he wasn't working as a home improvement contractor and master sider he could be found taking care of one or many of his grand kids or spending countless hours with his nieces and nephews.
He was such a caring a loving man who will be so greatly missed in so many ways by his grandchildren; Aalya, Tiana, Tone Torres (Melissa), Malani, Michael Jr Torres ( Micheal), John Jr, Zoe, Jaycian "JJ" Vieira (John), Dayshalee, Jayden, Nazir, Messiah Vieira, (Vanessa) and his nieces and nephews; Latasha, Gilbert jr, Janiah and Noah (Angie), Ashely, Kimberly, Manuel and Anthony, (Nolo).
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on his birthday, Aug. 24 at 43 Harmony St. in Bridgeport at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations in his name to: Bridgeport Rescue Mission PO Box 9057 Bridgeport, CT 06601-9057 a facility that's core beliefs match his own.
