BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Jerry Pezzella, of Bridgeport, died on Monday, Feb. 8. He was 80.
Pezzella "was a wonderfully talented soul; he wrote music, poems and published his own book," according to information provided by the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marie Pezzella of Fairfield; nieces and nephews Elena Luciuk of Bridgeport, Carol Cardillo of Fairfield, Enrico Pezzella of Cheshire, and Vincent Pezzella of Trumbull; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pezzella was predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Elena (Perella) Pezzella; siblings Louis Pezzella and his wife Lucy, Enrico Pezzella and his wife Mary, Caroline Pezzella, Frank Pezzella and Vincent Pezzella; and nephew Frank Pezzella.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, directly at St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., in Bridgeport. There will be no night calling hours. Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, in Bridgeport, assisted with arrangements.
