BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Dorothy Mazzadra Stein, age 96, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, Sept. 27.
She was born in Stratford, Conn., to Antonio and Corrine Zega Mazzadra.
She graduated cum laude from Stratford High School and modeled for Barbizon Modeling School in New York City.
After World War II, she married John Stein. He died in 2005.
She was a secretary at the Bridgeport Brass Company for more than 20 years until it closed and she then retired.
She is survived by three children, John Stein, Jr. and his wife, Georgia, of Milford, Darlene Nuzzo and her husband, Lou of Shelton and Donna Patterson and her fiance, Jerry Iannucci of Bridgeport; and her grandchildren, John Stein, III, Scott Stein, Kim Phillips, Jenna Marie Rua Louis Nuzzo, Jr., Melissa Brownbill and Jennifer Kluchnick.
She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kalya Gyger, James Phillips, Justin Stein, Antonio Joseph Rua, Lee Brownbill, II, Alyvia and Aiden Kluchnick.
She was predeceased by five brothers, William, Frank, Angelo, Louis and John Mazzadra and two sisters, Rose Bacchiocchi and Angelina Giliotti.
Visitation is on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m., in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, .followed by a Catholic prayer service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
