Funeral Services Set For Teen Shot By Bridgeport Police Officer

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Funeral services have been set for Jayson J. Negron, the 15-year-old from Bridgeport who was shot to death Tuesday a city police officer Tuesday afternoon after police said he slammed a stolen car into the officer.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave. in Bridgeport. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St., Bridgeport.

He was a sophomore at Bunnell High School in Stratford and enjoyed rapping.  

Police said Negron was fatally shot by Officer James Boulay after a brief pursuit in a stolen car on Fairfield Avenue in downtown Bridgeport. Boulay has been placed on administrative leave while the state police investigate the incident.

A GoFundMe page has been created to pay the funeral expenses.

Negron was born in Bridgeport to Juan "Jay NYZ" J. Negron and Natasha Tosado. In addition to his parents he is also survived by his siblings Marcus J. Negron and Jazmarie Melendez; his paternal grandparents Jacqueline Bisbal and Miguel Bisbal; and a host of other relatives and friends.
