BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim's mayoral aide Danny Pizarro, who was suspended without pay for not disclosing that he owed $55,000 in back taxes, has paid the debt, according to the Connecticut Post.
Pizarro, who was hired at $75,000-a-year shortly after Ganim took office, manages several properties that include low-income housing. He was suspended, not for owing the money, but for not telling the mayor about it before he was hired, said the Connecticut Post.
The tax issue came to light last week after the Connecticut Post contacted the mayor about the issue. It's not clear if Pizarro, who is in charge of blight issues, updating the downtown parking meters and other projects, will keep his job, added the Connecticut Post.
