FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A pleasant and sunny Thursday could lead to some wet weather and storms heading into the weekend in Fairfield County.
Thursday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 80, according to the National Weather Service. A light and variable wind will become a southwest wind of 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Thursday night is expected to see isolated showers after 2 a.m., accompanied by patchy fog. Otherwise the night will see increasing clouds, with a low around 69.
There will be a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Some strong thunderstorms have the potential to produce isolated damaging wind gusts. There will be patchy for before 10 a.m. Otherwise, Friday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 79. Friday night will also see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with some storms producing heavy rain. The low will be around 70.
Showers are likely to continue into Saturday, and there is the possibility of thunderstorms as well. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half-inch possible. The high will be near 82. Saturday night will see a 30 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m., otherwise it will be partly cloudy with a low around 62.
The sun will be back on Sunday, which is expected to be sunny, which a high near 80. Sunday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 60.
