FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Parts of Fairfield County could see some severe thunderstorms on Wednesday evening.

There is a slight chance of showers before noon, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, with wind gusts and large hail possible. Temperatures will be normal, with a high near 72.

Conditions will be more mild Wednesday evening, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. There is some patchy fog expected after 2 a.m. Otherwise the night will be mostly cloudy with a low near 55.

Thursday is expected to be warm and dry, with some patchy fog before 9 a.m but otherwise mostly sunny. The high will be near 79. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 52.

There is a slight chance of showers Friday morning, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Otherwise the day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Friday night will also see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but will be mostly cloudy with a low around 54.

Saturday is predicted to be mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Sunday will see a 50 percent chance of showers, but will be mostly cloudy with a high near 66.
