Rapid Freeze Will Bring Black Ice As Temps Plunge Sharply In Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Saturday's snow has given way to a rainy Sunday afternoon across Fairfield County. But temperatures will plunge rapidly, bringing black ice and slippery conditions to the area, the National Weather Service warned.

Showers will continue through the afternoon as temperatures drop. By evening, it will be mostly cloudy with a low temperature of just 15 degrees,the weather service said. 

Patchy black ice is expected as any residual water on roadways will freeze,  and travelers should be cautions for slippery conditions into the evening and overnight, the weather service said.

Monday will be sunny, with a high near 27 degrees but with wind chill values of 5 to 15 degrees.
