Hang On To Your Umbrella: Soggy Week Ahead For Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Labor Day may have been picture perfect, but the short work week that follows will be filled with rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will begin mostly sunny and a high near 80. But clouds will increase, with rain and possibly thunderstorms moving through the area by late Tuesday evening. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent, with clouds and rain likely overnight. 

Showers and more thunderstorms will continue through Wednesday, though temperatures will struggle to reach 70 degrees. The chance of rain is 70 percent. About three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Scattered showers will linger Thursday under mostly cloudy skies. Expect highs near 70 with gradually clearing skies. Hopefully the skies will be clear for the 9/11 memorial ceremony planned for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. (Click here for details.) 

Rain will finally begin to move out of the area on Friday with highs around 68. Cool but sunny days are also forecast for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
