BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Small businesses and startups may begin with a dream, but without enough seed money to get them off the ground, that dream can wither into a nightmare, say Bridgeport education officials and entrepreneurs.
To quote Thornton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker”: “Money is like manure; it’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around encouraging young things to grow.”
To that end, the University of Bridgeport is inviting dreamers to “Access to Capital for Small Businesses and Startups,” a networking conference and breakfast at 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 12.
The free event is being held in conjunction with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Bridgeport Regional Business Council.
It will take place at the Shelfhaudt Art Gallery in the Arnold Bernhard Center, 84 Iranistan Ave., Bridgeport.
