HCC Students, Staff Give Back To Bridgeport Community

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – As part of an effort to give back to the city of Bridgeport and its citizens, more than 50 faculty, staff and students are expected to turn out Saturday for Housatonic Community College’s Day of Community Service.

The day will start at 8:45 a.m. at HCC’s  Beacon Hall Cafeteria.

At 9:45 a.m, one group of attendees will move to Family Services Woodfield at 475 Clinton Ave., Bridgeport, where they will volunteer their time to work in community gardens, clothing closet and playground.

At the same time, a second group will go to the Bridgeport Public Library at Broad and State streets to help the Friends of the Library organize used books donated to the library for its ongoing used book sale.

The event is being held as part for Connecticut’s public service week.
