Bridgeport School Will Honor Longtime Advocate Geraldine Claytor

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The building that was supposed to the Longfellow School in Bridgeport will be renamed the Geraldine Claytor Magnet Academy, according to a report in the Connecticut Post.

Claytor, who died earlier this month, was the home-school coordinator for Longfellow and was involved in supporting education for a long time, the Connecticut Post reported. 

The name change came quickly after a petition signed by about 1,100 people was submitted by Board of Education member Kenneth Morales Jr., according to the Connecticut Post.
