Bridgeport Lions Club Gala Supports Anna Baum Skane School

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Members of the Bridgeport Lions Club will honor the Anna Baum Skane School in Bridgeport on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn Hotel.

A portion of the proceeds raised and donated by community members will be used to support the Skane School to assist in early childhood education services for more than 280 children ages three to five with a variety of special needs. 

Tickets are $75 and the evening will include a full dinner, wine, silent auction, dancing and live entertainment performed by Jack Lynn and Steve Kazlauskas celebrating the music of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. 

“With the assistance of individual and corporate sponsors, last year at the club’s first gala, the Lions of Bridgeport raised over $5,000 to donate to various Lions projects including the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Lions Clubs International Foundation, Connecticut Radio Information Systems, and eyeglasses for local children and adults in need of financial assistance,” says Dorothy Pickens, president of the Bridgeport Lions Club. “This year we hope you will join the movement and partner with the Bridgeport Lions in supporting our charities as well as our local school."
