BRIDGEPORT, Conn -- Mayoral candidate Mary-Jane Foster was among several office seekers to appear at a mayoral forum Monday at the Watermark retirement community in Bridgeport.
According to a statement from her campaign, Foster addressed a number of matters impacting the city's residents, including the issue of public safety and her belief that Bridgeport's leadership must advocate for state resources.
"Every opportunity I have had so far to share my real and honest ideas has connected with city residents and has demonstrated to voters the bright future Bridgeport will have if I am elected mayor, " she said in a statement about the forum at 3030 Park Ave.
Foster is running as an Independent candidate in the Nov. 3 general election. Also running for mayor are Republican candidate Enrique Torres, Democratic candidate Joe Ganim and New Movement Party candidate Charles Coviello.
Current Mayor Bill Finch was defeated by Ganim in the September primary election and will not be on the November ballot.
