BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- Bridgeport’s Joseph Ganim will join hundreds of other city mayors this week in Washington, D.C. at their national winter conference, according to a report in the ctpost.
The local leaders will confab with administration officials, congressmen, and business leaders as they unveil their agenda for the coming year, which is to invest in and protect cities, according to media reports.
Ganim was Bridgeport’s mayor from 1991 to 2003, when he was forced to resign his office after being convicted on federal corruption charges. He served seven years in prison before being re-elected last fall.
Ganim, and other mayors, are expected to meet with President Barack Obama Thursday, the ctpost story said.
