The deadline to register to vote in this year's municipal elections in Connecticut is Tuesday, Oct. 31, Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill says.

Residents who are eligible to vote can register online up until 11:59 p.m. Oct. 31, hand-deliver their applications to their local registrars of voters by 8 p.m. Oct. 31, or mail in applications so that they are postmarked by Oct. 31, Merrill says.

Many registrars of voters across the state will be in their offices Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Municipal elections are an opportunity for voters to choose the elected officials who will have the biggest impact on their everyday life,” said Merrill. “If you want to have a say in the future of your town, get out and vote and make your voice heard!”

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, for municipal elections in most Connecticut cities and towns.

You can register online at myvote.ct.gov/register . To check to see if you are registered to vote or to look up your polling place, visit myvote.ct.gov/lookup .
