The Norwalk Fire Department was called to the scene of the club at around 2 p.m. The worker had fallen approximately 12 feet from the scaffolding while working in a 15-foot deep pool, which was being repaired, fire officials said.

Norwalk Hospital paramedics had already treated and stabilized the worker before fire officials arrived, but needed help getting the patient out of the pool to ground level. Firefighters set up a vertical lift system using their ladder truck and ropes to lift the man in a rescue basket up to ground level.

The worker, a man in his 30s, suffered a serious leg injury in the fall. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, fire officials said.
