Police responded at 11:57 a.m. Thursday to the overturned vessel, police said.
The two men, identified as Bridgeport residents, were found clinging to the rocks at the 2A navigational marker outside of Black Rock Harbor, police said. The boaters were not equipped with personal floatation devices.
The vessel was overturned and partially submerged at anchor about 50 yards from the 2A marker, police said.
Marine officer rescued the two boaters, with one suffering from mild hyperthermia, police said. He was rushed to Captain’s Cove Marina, where AMR was awaiting to provide medical care.
A preliminary investigation determined that sea and wind conditions were a contributing factor to the vessel overturning, police said.
This case is under investigation by the Fairfield Police Marine Unit.
