The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. June 4, when Robert Rubino, 23, of 14 Mohawk Drive, Trumbull, entered the home, looking to make contact with an ex-girlfriend who was not there at the time, police said.

Rubino was found by a family member, who asked him to leave, police said.

The woman returned at 3 a.m. and said Rubino had followed her as she left a restaurant earlier in the evening, police said. He also had attempted to block her vehicle from leaving the area in an attempt to talk to her, police said, but she was able to leave.

When the woman checked her bedroom, she found items had been damaged and a purse was missing, police said.

Family members said they have previously found Rubino near their home, attempting to look around and make contact with the woman, police said.

Milford Police took Rubino into custody Thursday, June 22 and charged him with second-degree stalking, second-degree burglary, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree unlawful restraint.

Rubino was held $50,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on June 26.
