Suspect In Success Park Shooting Arrested In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A man who opened fire at another man near the splash pad at Success Park last month, was nabbed Thursday by agents from the U.S. Marshal's Violent Crime Fugitive Force in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post.

Edward "Mike" Myers, 50, who has been on the run since the shooting, was caught at his estranged girlfriend's home, the Connecticut Post reported. Myers allegedly shot his estranged girlfriend's new boyfriend in the thigh and stole her car and purse at the busy park with parents and children nearby, said the Connecticut Post.

Myers was charged with assault, larceny, discharge of a firearm and risk of injury to children. He is being held on $750,000 bond, added the Connecticut Post.
