The crash occurred at about 7:40 p.m. Sunday between Exits 41 and 42 on the northbound Merritt, said a statement from Assistant Fire Chief Michael Kronick.
The Westport Fire Department responded with Engine 2, Rescue 3 and Car 3 with a total of eight firefighters and officers.
Units found the Connecticut State Police on the scene with a three-vehicle accident involving two cars and a tow truck. A total of six people were injured, three with serious injuries and three with non-life threatening injuries, Kronick said.
All of the injured were out of the vehicles, and Westport firefighters began treatment, he said.
Westport EMS and Norwalk Hospital ambulances responded to continue patient care and transport the injured to the hospital, Kronick said.
The accident blocked all the lanes of the parkway, shutting down all northbound traffic for about one hour and causing traffic delays in the area, he said.
Westport Fire units assisted with cleaning the debris from the accident, he said. The last fire department units cleared the scene at 8:52 p.m., Kronick said.
