Up to 100 infractions were issued “to mostly underage Sacred Heart University students for procuring alcohol while underage” at the bar, police said.

The bar is where a 39-year-old Bridgeport man, who was arrested Tuesday on charges of sexually assaulting a Sacred Heart student, met his victim, according to Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.

The bar’s owner was cited for several liquor violations and referred to the state liquor commission, Fitzgerald said.

The Bridgeport Police Department's Narcotics & Vice Task Force and the Detective Bureau assisted patrols in the raid at the cafe, located at 3915 Main St., police said.

On March 30, Alfonso Reid, 39, is alleged to have taken a 19-year-old Sacred Heart student to his Scofield Avenue home, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Reid was taken into custody without incident at his home at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

He was charged with first-degree sexual assault and held on $750,000 bond, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned April 6, police said.
