Police: Two Shot, One In Critical Condition In Bridgeport Drug Deal

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Two Bridgeport men were shot Sunday night and one remained in critical condition Monday morning after an altercation during an alleged drug deal on Iranistan Avenue, police said.

According to witnesses, Brandon Thompson, 20, of Kennedy Drive, went with friends to Iranistan Avenue at about 11 p.m. Sunday to meet with Immanuel Whilte, 22, of Federal Street, to buy marijuana, police said.

An altercation ensued, and Thompson was shot in the chest and White was shot in the arm, police said.

Thompson was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in a private car and was rushed into surgery, police said. He remained in critical condition on Monday, police said.

White was taken to St. Vincent’s by ambulance and was admitted for a nonlife-threatening wound.

The case remains under investigation and detectives are following strong leads. Police said an arrest is likely.
