New Canaan Man Dies Of Apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot At Train Station

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 56-year-old New Canaan man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound outside his car at the Talmadge Hill Train Station on Wednesday evening, police said.

New Canaan police said they are investigating the untimely death, which was reported just before 6 p.m. Wednesday in the upper parking lot of the train station, which is along Metro-North's New Canaan branch. 

 "This is an isolated incident and no danger exists to any other members of the public," Lt. Jason Ferraro said in a statement.

The initial report was that a man might be in distress in the area, he said. 

No further information was released by New Canaan police by late Wednesday.
