Minivan Hits, Kills 87-Year-Old Bridgeport Man Out For A Walk

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An 87-year-old man died of his injuries after he was struck Saturday morning by a minivan while he was out for a walk in downtown Bridgeport, the Connecticut Post reported.

William “Frank” Godwin, of Park Avenue, was hit by a Dodge Grand Caravan at 6:30 a.m. at Prospect Street and Myrtle Avenue while walking toward a shopping center across from the State Police barracks, the Post said.

He died later at Bridgeport Hospital, the Post said. 

The driver, a 42-year-old Bridgeport woman, remained at the scene, cooperated with police and had not been charged, the Post said.
