BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A man was shot to death Thursday night in the first homicide of 2016 in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post.
The shooting occurred at about 8:40 p.m. near the intersection of Stratford and Connecticut avenues in the city's East End, near the Stratford border, the Post said.
The unidentified victim died at nearby Bridgeport Hospital, the Post said.
There were 19 homicides in Bridgeport in 2015. The last one occurred Christmas Eve, when 14-year-old Luis Colon was caught in the crossfire of a drug-related shooting as he walked to a neighborhood store, an apparent innocent bystander.
