Fairfield Police: Car, Bike Stolen Despite Locks

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police reported a car stolen from a dealership and a bike stolen from the Fairfield Metro train station.

On Oct. 9, the management at Scap Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Tunxis Hill Road said a customer’s blue 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee last seen around 1 p.m. on Oct. 7 was missing from its lot, police said.

The vehicle, valued at $4,000, had been locked and the keys were in a toolbox inside the dealership.

A Trek bicycle valued at $1,200 was reported stolen from the Fairfield Metro train station between 8:20 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

The 22.5-inch bike had been locked to a rack on the north side of the tracks.
