Danbury Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer From Bridgeport

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police busted a Bridgeport man on multiple charges of selling drugs from a Danbury apartment and throughout the city after obtaining search-and-seizure warrants, police said.

At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers seized Jack “YS” Wessells, 32, of 168 Bond Ave., Bridgeport, and his vehicle while he was parked on Aaron Samuels Boulevard, police said.

At the time, Wessells was selling drugs to Mark Medrano, 54, of 16 Shoreview Lane, Danbury, who had parked on the same street, police said.

Medrano and Wessells were both found to be in possession of packaged crack cocaine, police said. Both were arrested and transported to the police department.

Special Investigations Division investigators then went to a George Street apartment and seized drug paraphernalia believed to belong to Wessells, police said.

The court-authorized search-and-seizure warrants for Wessells, his vehicle and the George Street apartment he was using were all issued as a result of an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to complaints about Wessells selling drugs, police said.

Wessells was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell less than 1 ounce, sale of crack cocaine, sale of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell less than 5 ounces, possession of crack narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held on $150,000 bond.

Medrano was charged with possession of crack cocaine and released on a written promise to appear.
