Latia Quarles of Burnsford Avenue was charged Wednesday in the death, which was recently ruled a homicide, police told the Post. More arrests were expected.

On April 27, Victor Diaz, 26, was assaulted by several friends near Dewhirst Street and Baker Street and suffered an asthma attack, the Post said. Diaz was admitted to the hospital and died April 30, the Post said.

The autopsy ruled his death was directly related to the assault, according to the Connecticut Post.

Diaz is the 18th homicide victim in Bridgeport in 2017.
