BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Bridgeport police are now saying a girl’s claim of being followed by a man Thursday is unfounded, according to a report by connecticut.news12.com.

The girl, a student at the Barnum School on Waterview Avenue, told authorities the man had approached her, tried to touch her and then followed her when she walked away, an earlier connecticut.news12.com story said.

After checking security tapes, police found no evidence of any attempted abduction, the connecticut.news12.com story said.
