STRATFORD, Conn. -- Three men suspected of breaking into a deli in Stratford were arrested in Bridgeport on Saturday after a brief chase, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police responded to the Pickle Barrel Deli on Main Street in Stratford on Saturday morning on a report of an alarm going off, the Connecticut Post reported. When they arrived they found that the cash register was missing, and saw three men fleeing in a gray van, according to the Connecticut Post.

The van was spotted a short time later in Fairfield and police gave chase, eventually following the van into Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post. The three occupants eventually got out and fled on foot, but police were able to arrest two of them after a short chase, the Connecticut Post reported. Those two were identified as 26-year-old Josue Rivera-Suarez and 23-year-old Paul Thompson, both of Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police were able to identify the owner of the van as 30-year-old Cesar Ramirez-Ruiz of Bridgeport, and when they confronted him he denied being a part of the burglary, according to the Connecticut Post. After a witness identified Ramirez-Ruiz as the driver of the van, he was taken into custody, the Connecticut Post reported.

The three men were charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny and held on $50,000 bonds, according to the Connecticut Post. They are also suspected of burglarizing a Fairfield gas station that same day, the Connecticut Post reported.
