BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – A Bridgeport man has pleaded guilty in a shooting that left one man dead and another injured, according to a report by The Connecticut Post.

Efraim Rivera, 40, fatally shot Miguel Martinez, 34, and wounded his brother, Jose, on Ogden Street last May, The Connecticut Post reported.

Police told The Connecticut Post there had been a longstanding feud between the Rivera and the Martinez families and Miguel Martinez had just been released from prison, where he had been serving time for robbery.

Rivera was about to stand trial Monday when he pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm, first-degree assault and possession of a pistol without a permit, The Connecticut Post story said.

He could get up to 10 years behind bars when he is sentenced in June, The Connecticut Post reported.
