Bridgeport Man Ejected From Pickup Truck In Rollover On I-95

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 54-year-old Bridgeport man suffered serious injuries after he was ejected from his pickup during a rollover crash on Interstate 95 south in Bridgeport, according to state police.

The man was trying to change lanes at 10:30 p.m. Monday on I-95 south near Exit 27A when his Toyota Tacoma hit a tractor-trailer, state police said. 

His Toyota Tacoma rolled over, hit a concrete barrier and flipped back over onto its wheels, throwing the man from the pickup truck, police said. He was not wearing a seat belt. 

He was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport with serious injuries, state police said.

The crash occurred on the injured man's 54th birthday, state police said.

The accident happened in a construction zone, and two southbound lanes were closed at the time.

Lopez’s vehicle was traveling in the center lane.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, state police said.
