Bridgeport Man, Dog Shot Before Girlfriend Was Kidnapped

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A man and a dog were shot just before the man's girlfriend was kidnapped by the suspects in Bridgeport early Monday, according to NBC Connecticut.

The woman, who was taken in the victim's car, was driven around by the suspects and found safe later in Wallingford, according to NBC Connecticut.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting at about 1 a.m. on Federal Street, police told NBC 30.

The dog, which had no no connection to the man and the woman, was shot in a driveway down the street and was expected to survive, NBC Connecticut said.

The incident remains under investigation by police in Wallingford and Bridgeport.
