Onaje Smith, 18, of 32 Beechwood Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday morning. He's facing four robbery-related charges, and one count each of criminal use of a firearm, carrying a gun without a permit, first-degree assault and second-degree larceny. His bond was set at $250,000 and he appeared in Norwalk Court on Tuesday.

"He is believed to be the shooter on Derby Road," Lt. Terry Blake said. "He was already in custody and was brought down to Norwalk court from BCC (Bridgeport Correctional Center) where Norwalk detectives served two arrest warrants."

Smith had been in custody since January following a car chase and crash in Bridgeport.

Last week, Norwalk Police arrested two Stamford residents in connection with the robberies.

Tyriek Gantt, 19, of 142 Connecticut Ave., was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree assault and second-degree larceny.

Those charges stem from the robberies on Jan. 14 on Derby Road where the driver was shot and wounded, and the Jan. 9 robbery of another delivery driver on Rolling Lane. Gantt was also arrested following the Bridgeport chase. He is also facing charges in Stamford, where police say he set a stolen car on fire.

Jaiden Parker, 20, of 145 Montauk Drive, was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of second-degree larceny in connection with the Jan. 9 robbery.
